We have tried very hard to cut down on our intake of refined sugar and have always used some tablet sweeteners in hot drinks as a replacement for some of the sugar, or at least part of the sugar. Unfortunately, my wife has a particularly ‘sweet tooth' and bit by bit the proportion of sugar to sweetener has crept up. (She thinks I don’t notice the extra spoonful of sugar!).We thought that this Groovy Keto blend of Erythritol and Stevia had to be worth a try as it promises the sweetness we like but all in a natural product with zero calories. The pack that we received had a generous 'Best Before' date of Nov 2026.The price of around £7.99 for 1kg is expensive in comparison to refined sugar but reasonable value in relation to other sweeteners. The product is packaged in a sturdy zip lock type bag with a flat base so easy to access and store.The sweetness of this product compared to sugar is described as 1:1 but we did find that that we needed a little more to achieve the same sweetness and found the taste slightly different. Also for us, the cost of the product would be prohibitive for baking use. Of course, it all comes down to personal taste and how important it is to reduce intake of refined sugar, but this product at least gives a very palatable alternative. The Stevia handles and dissolves just like granulated sugar.4 stars as we don’t find this quite as sweet and the price has to be considered.

I’ve already made banana & chocolate cake, banana & double chocolate cake and carrot cake, and I am very happy with this Groovy Keto Erythritol & Stevia Blend. I can taste ever-so-slight bitterness when eating cakes, but this could be mistaken for extra sweetness. I use this sugar due to my husband’s diabetes diagnosis but I don’t have diabetes myself. Even so, I totally enjoy my baking with this Erythritol-stevia.
My Groovy Keto Erythritol & Stevia Blend Natural Sugar Substitute arrived in its own branded bag.- Quantity: 1kg- Also available in Brown Sugar and Icing Sugar style sweetenerI am due to undergo abdominal surgery and will not be allowed sugar ever again so have been looking for sweeteners to try for cereals such as porridge.I am very impressed with this sweetener and with the quality of the sweetener is great and not like dust as some of them can be.This is a great size pack at 1kg and at £9.99 I think it is value for money even though a little expensive but this will not put me off.- What I will do is use it for porridge and cereal and use a normal sweetener in tea and coffeeI like that it has no calories , is tooth friendly and tastes like sugar.- It can be used for baking but I have not cooked anything with it yetI have tried it in coffee and tea and on porridge and it is delicious and I think just like sugar.Very Highly Recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I've been using the little sweetener 'tablet' dispensers for years now, having cut sugar out from my coffee drinks for longer than I remember. I find that with the sweeteners I've been using, they're either too little or too much and I can't find a good balance. This Groovy Keto sweetener is made to replicate how you'd spoon sugar into your drink (or whatever else you want to use it for) and thus a teaspoon of this is pretty much a teaspoon of sugar - no messing about. I like the idea, although I'd like to see how long 1kg lasts before I spend £8 ordering more.
This sweetener has been a great addition to my kitchen. I started using it when I was on a keto diet, and even though I’m not strictly following keto anymore, I still use it because I want to avoid too much sugar. It works really well in desserts like chocolate pudding and fruit pudding made with fresh fruit and cottage cheese. The taste is just right, sweetening the mousse without being overpowering. I also like that it doesn’t leave any gritty texture or noticeable crystals. Overall, I’m happy with how it performs and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good sugar alternative. Not the biggest fan of the packaging as looks a bit cheap, could have been more eco friendly
I have used Stevia and Erythritol separately before. This is a mixture of the two - it doesn't say anywhere what exactly the breakdown of that mixture is. Is it 50:50%... Is it 90:10%. There is just no-where these details are mentioned on the packaging, or on the Amazon listing info. That's a pity !! I would have liked to have known.I like erythritol a bit more than stevia, as stevia has somewhat of a bitter after taste. I'm guessing that the combination of both of them will be more palatable than either of them separately. The packing says to use it in hot drinks and baking.I tried some of it dissolved in pure warm water, and the taste was pleasant enough. Fine, but not delicious. Similar to real sugar, but with some obvious differences. Difficult to describe.I've already tried it in coffee & tea, and it tastes fine. It doesn't taste quite as nice as real sugar, but it also doesn't have the calories and the adverse metabolic effects of sugar - so there are advantages.I also tasted it directly in the granulated form from the packet - it's not quite as nice that way. A bit too strong, and the bitter after taste is more obvious.Baking cakes is on the menu for later in the week. I will update the review if there are any significant insights.
The texture of this sweetener is surprisingly similar to real sugar - I'm used to it being more powdery and making my tea go a bit frothy, but this gave a good texture.The first couple of times I used too much - I like my tea sweet but I needed to use less of this than I would tablet sweetener or real sugar as I found it to have quite a saccharine taste.I haven't tried baking with this yet but as my Mum is diabetic, I'm going to try and make some biscuits, just finding it difficult to adjust to the right taste/sweetness quantity.I do prefer using this in my tea compared powdered sweetener because of the way it stirs in like sugar. I don't usually like stevia based calorie sugars as often I find they have a aftertaste but this one just tasted sweet.
