Finally. A high-protein bread that actually tastes like bread.
If you've tried "healthy" low-carb breads before, you already know the problem. Dry. Crumbly. Eggy. That strange aftertaste that makes you wonder why you bothered.
Omegaseed is different. It's an authentic German-style seeded loaf — dense, chewy, packed with brown linseed, sunflower seeds and golden linseed — built on wholemeal wheat and rye sourdough, the way proper European bread has been made for generations.
Slice it. Toast it. Top it. It holds up.

German-Style High Protein Bread - 250g - 10.6g Protein Per Slice - 5 Slices Questions and Answers
Is this suitable for strict keto?
At 6.3g carbs per slice, this sits better in a low-carb or lazy-keto approach than strict keto. If you're targeting under 20g carbs per day, stick with our 2.3g Low Carb Keto Bread. This loaf is ideal for anyone prioritising protein who has more headroom on carbs.
Is this safe for Type 2 diabetics?
Hundreds of our customers manage Type 2 diabetes and use our breads daily. At 6.3g carbs, 4.6g fibre and 10.6g protein per slice, the glycemic impact is very low. No maltitol, no hidden sugars. Always consult your GP or dietitian before major dietary changes.
How does it compare to your other bread?
Our Low Carb Keto Bread is the strict-keto choice: 2.3g carbs per slice, lower protein. Omegaseed is the protein choice: 10.6g protein per slice, with still-very-low 6.3g carbs. Many customers buy both and use them for different meals.
Can I freeze it?
Yes — and we recommend you do. Slice before freezing so you can toast individual slices straight from frozen (no defrosting needed). Keeps for up to 3 months. Once opened and not frozen, refrigerate and use within 3 days
Is it gluten-free?
No. This loaf is made from wholemeal wheat, rye and barley — all gluten-containing grains. The protein and texture come from real grain proteins, not gluten-free alternatives.
German-Style High Protein Bread - 250g - 10.6g Protein Per Slice - 5 Slices reviews
Absolutely fantastic! This bread fits in really well with the way I eat. I have been trying to add more protein into my meals and this makes it much easier. I usually toast a couple of slices for breakfast with eggs and avocado. It keeps me feeling full for much longer than ordinary bread.
The texture is much better than I expected. It toasts nicely and holds together well. The seeded flavour is lovely and works just as well with savoury toppings. It has become a regular part of my weekly shop. Good value for the price. Very pleased. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Would certainly recommend.
Groovy Keto’s Omegaseed loaf is a great pick if you want a dense, German‑style seeded bread that’s both high‑protein and low‑carb. Each slice packs 10.6g protein and 4.6g fibre, with a mix of linseed, sunflower seeds and rye sourdough that gives it a rich, nutty flavour and a proper chewy bite. It toasts beautifully, works well with savoury toppings, and feels far more “real bread” than most keto options. A solid everyday low‑carb loaf with great texture and nutrition.
No idea what's supposed to be groovy about this? It's a dark, dense, thinly sliced bread similar to Volkornbrot (I think) in its heavy texture and slightly nutty flavour. Healthy. The protein content's no better than other protein breads, but it is extremely satisfying. Would be great with cheese. Not great for toasting. Amazing shelf life while unopened.
Each slice of this keto bread is roughly half the size of a standard slice of bread. It is also thinner. It is dense with a seeded texture. It's moist, but a bit dry. The flavour is strong and I think needs strongly flavoured fillings otherwise they get overwhelmed. For instance, when I used it to make a turkey sandwich the turkey couldn't really be tasted. Toasted with peanut butter however was delicious and my husband really liked it with beef tongue and English mustard. It's vacuum packed and will stay good for a long time, but once opened the left over slice (stored in bread box) started to grow mould in three days.
wush it was 5.99,, i need it fir health problems - its very good though , highy reccomend .:)
I tried this Groovy Keto Omegaseed bread and the taste is genuinely good. It has that dense, seeded, German‑style texture with a slightly nutty flavour, and it toasts really well without falling apart. Each slice feels substantial, and the high‑protein, low‑carb profile is exactly what you’d expect from this type of loaf. If you like seeded sourdough‑style keto breads, the flavour is one of the better ones I’ve had.
The downside is the price. Even for a specialist keto product, it’s expensive, and the loaves are on the smaller side, so you get through them quickly. It’s not the best value if you eat it regularly, and the cost definitely stands out compared to other low‑carb breads.
Overall, it tastes great and works well for keto or high‑protein diets, but the price makes it more of an occasional treat than an everyday staple.
I've tried a few other Groovy Keto products before and have found them to generally be of good quality and this high protein bread doesn't damage that opinion. However, that's not to say it's a perfect product.
The bread arrives in two sealed packs of 5 slices. The packaging is attractive, with full ingredients and nutritional information clearly printed on the labels.
I've never tried low carb, high protein bread before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The slices are very thin, but the bread is very dense, so it isn't floppy. It has a firm sponge-like feel. There's a rich, dark, nutty, almost malty smell to it, like a nice wholemeal bread. Mouthfeel is on the rubbery side, but it breaks down well and it's quite flavoursome. It's a lot more substantial than a regular slice of bread.
In terms of nutrition, there's significantly more protein in this bread, and a lot less carbohydrate. That's great if you're following a Keto diet, or just like to keep your carbs down. It's also packed with fibre, Omega-3 and essential oils.
Once the packet has been opened, the bread will last for 3 days, but as there are only 5 slices in the pack, you'll likely easily use it up in that time. Which brings me to the negatives...
I find the packaging style of this bread to be a little odd. 5 is an odd number, meaning you can't make three full sandwiches with a single pack. At the current price of £6.99, it's also rather expensive given how little you get. Even two packs aren't the equivalent of half a loaf. At this price, I can't really see this becoming a thing you would buy on a weekly basis.
Still, it's a tasty high protein bread and it's worth trying if you're trying a Keto diet or just want to cut down on your carb intake.
The slices are actually very thin, but they are dense enough to feel filling. They taste quite nice when they are toasted, and you get a distinctive, wholemeal flavour.
It does take a long time to get them browned. If I leave my toaster on its normal setting, I need to push the lever down two times to get them sufficiently toasted. These have a really long use-by date on the packaging. The slices arrived with almost an entire year of shelf life on them, which is amazing for a bread product.
If you like seeded malty tasting bread then you'll like this. It's also very firm and thinly sliced.
You get 5 slices (250g) in each packet and it will keep for nearly 2 years if left unopened in a cool dry place. Once opened use within 3 days.
I'm on a low carb diet as I have type 2 diabetes so I was unsure whether to eat it or not as it's 6.3g per slice. I'm happy to report that it didn't spike my blood, glucose but would advise testing if you want to try this. It has 10.6g of protein per slice which is a good amount.
It toasts quite well, curls up slightly in my toaster but flattens again when I put butter on.
Not sure about value, it's similar to other low carb high protein breads. I may buy again, it would be handy to have a couple of unopened packets in my cupboard for if I fancy a sandwich and yes, I ate the lot except for one slice which I gave to my son.
This bread has been a brilliant find! It has a lovely dense, hearty texture and tastes much more like proper bakery bread than many low carb alternatives I’ve tried. The seeded loaf is full of flavour, with the linseed and sunflower seeds giving it a really satisfying crunch.
I love that it’s high in protein and fibre while still being low carb, so it fits perfectly into a healthier diet without feeling like a compromise. It’s especially good toasted with eggs, avocado or cream cheese, and the rye sourdough flavour gives it a really authentic German-style taste.
The slices are filling and keep me satisfied for much longer than regular bread. The 2-pack is also really convenient and freezes well too. Great quality, delicious flavour, and ideal for anyone looking for a healthier bread option.
